Phase 2C registration closed on 30 July 2026. In the MOE snapshot last updated Wednesday, 29 July 2026, applicants exceeded published vacancies at 65 schools. These figures are not yet confirmed ballots — MOE publishes final numbers and balloting status by 5 August, with allocation results on 11 August. Phase 2B (closed) had 33 oversubscribed schools, with balloting at 31 of them.

How to register for P1 in Singapore

Confirm eligibility. Check the child’s birth-date group and whether the SC/PR or international-student process applies.

Find the eligible phase. Use the official portal to see the phases and schools available to the child.

Compare realistic choices. Consider school fit, travel time, home-school distance, vacancies, and historical demand together.

Submit during the phase. One parent signs in with Singpass and 2FA. Submit to one school; MOE uses the latest submission made before the phase closes.

Check the result. View the result on the official date. If unsuccessful, register in the next phase for which the child is eligible.
P1 balloting priority order
If applications exceed places, MOE conducts computerised balloting centrally. Priority is applied in this order:
- 1.Singapore Citizens within 1km
- 2.Singapore Citizens from 1km to 2km
- 3.Singapore Citizens outside 2km
- 4.Permanent Residents within 1km
- 5.Permanent Residents from 1km to 2km
- 6.Permanent Residents outside 2km
A place is not guaranteed even within 1km. Children who gain priority through the distance category must generally meet MOE’s 30-month residence requirement. Read the official MOE balloting explanation.
What EduGuru’s “school ranking” measures
The ranking is a demand comparison, not an academic ranking. Its score is calculated only from applicant-to-vacancy ratios: Phase 2A × 1.0, Phase 2B × 1.5, and Phase 2C × 1.3. A high score means stronger registration demand in the available data; it does not measure exam results, teaching quality, programmes, facilities, or suitability for an individual child. The 2026 ranking remains provisional until every relevant phase is complete.
Singapore P1 registration questions
When is Singapore P1 registration 2026?
The 2026 P1 Registration Exercise for admission in 2027 runs from 30 June to 30 October 2026. The five online phases for Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children run from 30 June to 18 August: Phase 1 is 30 June–2 July, Phase 2A is 9–10 July, Phase 2B is 20–21 July, Phase 2C is 28–30 July, and Phase 2C Supplementary is 17–18 August.
Who is eligible for the 2026 P1 Registration Exercise?
Children born from 2 January 2020 through 1 January 2021, both dates inclusive, are in the age group for the 2026 exercise and admission to Primary 1 in 2027. Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident children use Phases 1 to 2C Supplementary; international students follow the separate Phase 3 process.
How do parents register for P1 in Singapore?
One parent logs in to the official P1 Registration Portal with Singpass and 2-Factor Authentication during the child's eligible phase. The portal shows the phases and schools the child is eligible for. MOE treats the latest submission made before that phase closes as the application.
How does P1 balloting priority work?
When applications exceed available places, MOE conducts computerised balloting centrally. Priority is considered first by citizenship and then home-school distance: Singapore Citizens within 1km, 1km–2km, and outside 2km, followed by Permanent Residents in the same three distance bands.
Does living within 1km guarantee a P1 place?
No. Living within 1km gives a child higher priority within the relevant citizenship group, but it does not guarantee admission. If that priority group has more applicants than places, applicants within the group must ballot.

MOE is the official source for 2026 vacancies, applicant numbers, and confirmed balloting status. EduGuru republishes a dated comparison snapshot and demand ratios for easier school-to-school analysis; figures shown before MOE finalises a phase are labelled preliminary.
Is the EduGuru popularity ranking an academic school ranking?
No. It is a demand indicator based only on P1 applicant-to-vacancy ratios. The score weights Phase 2A at 1.0, Phase 2B at 1.5, and Phase 2C at 1.3. It does not measure academic results, teaching quality, facilities, or whether a school is suitable for a particular child.
